our story

Jake Curtis, owner/operator of 52 North Outfitters, grew up in northeast Ohio and started hunting at the age of seven. Waterfowl hunting became his passion at a young age when his family embarked on many guided trips across the US. He pursued his college degree in Central Kansas to expand his opportunity in the outfitting industry. Starting from bottom at 18, he worked his way to the top – learning from some of the best in the industry. This experience helped make him a stronger hunter & guide. Shortly after graduation, Jake received the opportunity to run 52 North Outfitters. The ability to do what he loves and share that passion with others is the reason why he does it.
